We had an amazing visit to the Orphanage  school in 2019. The school  took our breath away!  The staff and pupils truly cherished what they had...but beyond the buildings and the uniforms, there was a noticeable lack of resources. 

The teachers had done a great job in making posters to adorn the classroom walls. 

And each room had a blackboard. 

But there were no books! 

And so  back at home, we started  to collect and send out books of all kinds...fiction and non-fiction, reading scheme books, text books and teacher resources.

Thank you to everyone who has so generously donated books. 

We have so far sent 18 x20kg boxes and there are more waiting!

The courier system means that it takes about 5 days to reach Kitwe. Not bad! 

But very expensive!
